Airbus is studying the impact of EU sanctions against Russia on the aviation industry
Airbus, the aircraft giant, said today, Friday, that it is analyzing the impact of the sanctions announced by the European Commission against Russia on the aviation industry.
At the same time, the company added that it was too early to comment on the consequences of those sanctions, a company spokesman said.
An Airbus spokesman added: “We are still analyzing the impact of the sanctions announced yesterday, and it is too early to comment in detail on their impact, and we will comply with all applicable sanctions and laws once they enter into force.”
He continued, “The company is closely monitoring the situation with its partners, customers and suppliers, noting that it is a matter of concern to see the security situation deteriorating so rapidly in Europe.”
Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the possible consequences of new Western sanctions on high-tech sectors of the Russian economy, said that there will be problems, but they are solvable.
Commenting on the words of US President Joe Biden, Peskov said that the new sanctions package will have a long-term impact on Russia’s high-tech industries such as aerospace, nuclear industry and others: “Reliance on the outside has been systematically reduced in recent years. The main objective, which was It was pursued against the background of the continuation of new and new sanctions, is to ensure, complete self-sufficiency and full replacement of imports, if necessary,” noting that “this goal has been largely achieved.”
