The head of Russian diplomacy, Sergey Lavrov, and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, stressed Thursday, during a phone call, the importance of respecting the principle of indivisibility of security, a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
“It was emphasized that Russia and China insist on the need for all countries to respect the principle of indivisibility of security,” the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry said in this regard.
It was also reported that the two sides also discussed the implementation of the agreements of the Russian-Chinese summit on February 4 this year, while Lavrov congratulated him on the successful organization of the Winter Olympics in Beijing.

It is worth noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Thursday morning, February 24, that he had decided to launch a special military operation against Ukraine, noting in a televised speech to the Russians that the circumstances “require us to take decisive and immediate measures, and the two Donbass People’s Republics have turned to Russia with a request for help.”
