A new variety of ‘snowdrop’ flowers has sold for £1,850 (about $2,500) at auction on eBay.
Joe Sharman, owner of Monksilver Nursery in Cambridge, UK, dedicated to displaying a mixture of new varieties of flowers and plants, or revived old plant varieties rarely found for sale, previously sold a type of Snowdrop, called Golden Fleece, which It took 18 years to develop, for 1,390 pounds (1,883 US dollars).
The auction site’s listing describes this new type of flower, called Golden Tears, which sold for £1,850, as ‘extremely powerful’.
In a 2015 interview with The Guardian, Sharman described his love for this type of flower, and said, “I don’t think there is another group of plants that resembles it.”
