The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, declared his readiness to be the first to go to war if it was necessary to defend the homeland.

Lukashenko was quoted by the Belarusian news agency “Belta” as saying in this regard: “We need to do everything we can to preserve our country. But if … (it was necessary), then I say that frankly to the people always, we, the people in uniform, We will be the first to go to protect our homeland.”

The Belarusian president described the situation in Europe as “the madness of igniting a war”, noting that Belarus found itself at the center of these events.

Lukashenko indicated that during the joint military exercises of Russia and Belarus, he tried to convey to journalists how terrible the war was, and what deprivation it causes, and said in this regard: “We were here in the exercises, and at the end of these exercises .. the weather was very bad, heavy rain, frost, terrible winds All froze, they stopped trembling. Well, I think I’ll talk to them a little longer, so that the foreigners and us, what it means to live in the uncomfortable conditions to which we are accustomed, can feel better, and I asked them: Well, now you realize that war is terrifying, and it will be worse than now. So we’re used to good conditions.”
