Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a ‘massive fight’ every morning over what song they want to play

The royal family normally remain tight-lipped about the inner workings of their private everyday lives, but Prince William revealed that he faces many of the same challenges with his children as everyone else.

The Duke of Cambridge opened up about the arguments that take place in his household when he featured on an episode of the Apple+ series, Time To Walk. William spoke about his favourite songs to listen to, and revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte have inherited his love for music.

William revealed that in the morning his children struggle to agree on what song should be played as they each have their own idea of what they want. He said: “What I’ve been amazed by is how much my children already have inherited my family’s love of music.”

He continued: “Most mornings there’s a massive fight between Charlotte and George as to what song is played in the morning. And I have to, now, basically prioritise that one day someone does this one, and another day it’s someone else’s turn. So George gets his go, then Charlotte gets her go. Such is the clamour for the music.”

The Prince went on to reveal that one of the family’s favourite songs to listen to is Shakira’s Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), which was released in 2010. He said: “One of the songs that the children are loving at the moment is Shakira, Waka Waka. There’s a lot of hip movements going along. There’s a lot of dressing up.”

He added: “Charlotte, particularly, is running around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet stuff and everything. She goes completely crazy with [Prince] Louis following her around trying to do the same thing.”

Prince William revealed the song often prompts moments of happiness in the house. He said: “It’s a really happy moment where the children just enjoy dancing, messing around, and, and singing. I hope you enjoy this one. Have some fun.”

It is not just music that the young royals enjoy, but William has spoken in the past of his children’s love for technology. The father-of-three revealed during a visit to BAFTA’s redeveloped London headquarters that he has to regulate his kids’ screen time

He said: “At the moment it’s trying to regulate the gaming… monitoring screen time. Got to be careful of that. They’re fascinated by it. George particularly. He’s more interested in it. The other two are a bit too small at the moment but they love the films. I adore film and gaming as well.”
