The Animal Welfare Society in Arlington County, Virginia, revealed that it intervened to pull a chicken that was circling around the security zone in the Pentagon, one of the most fortified buildings in the world.
The Animal Welfare League of Arlington explained through its social media accounts that it had summoned its employees to take care of the chicken and return it to the coop.
The Military Times newspaper, which specializes in military affairs, reported the news of the chicken, and asked sarcastically: “Did the chicken simply get lost trying to cross the street? Or is it a spy who was on a mission to steal state secrets? Until now, it has not opened its beak” to answer these questions.
Our officers have chosen the name Henny Penny for our #pentagonchicken, and she will be going to live at a local animal sanctuary very soon! https://t.co/qQ7kfYkocM pic.twitter.com/31gugYE4tR
