The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development in Morocco revealed the details of the national plan to control the numbers of wild boars, with the aim of restoring the natural balance to the affected areas.
In a response from the ministry to a written question from a parliamentary group affiliated with the Party of Progress and Socialism, it was reported that in the current sniping season, “a national program that includes 360 black points has been defined, after which 1,600 pigs have been programmed, which he has begun to implement,” meaning sniping wild boars.
In this context, the ministry also pointed out that “traps were used in places where the rumors did not pay off, noting that this experiment included areas located in Tiznit and the suburbs of Rabat and forests adjacent to the city of Tangier, where the use of these traps gave positive results, compared to the advice, and it is expected that This experience is being generalized in other regions of the Kingdom.”
Moreover, Morocco’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development “has taken a set of measures to facilitate the process of regulating wild boar affiliations, by passing from the established administrative licensing system, to a system based on the tribal declaration of companions.”
In this regard, it was also possible to “enable volunteer snipers, renters of the right to sniper, owners and exploiters of lands located within the black points who wish to complete the operations of regulating wild boar numbers from the tribal permit and in an electronic way on the website of the water and forest sector, within the framework of a pre-prepared program and at least three days before the date of Fulfillment of the quest.”
It is noteworthy that several regions in Morocco “suffer from the proliferation of wild boars, which poses a threat to the local population and their property.”
The water and forestry sector in the Kingdom seeks “to organize annual inspections, in order to control and control the numbers of this type of animal, which is classified as a harmful animal.”
