German archaeologist Wolfgang Hercht has unearthed ancient gold coins in the German state of Brandenburg, minted during the Late Iron Age 2,000 years ago.
And Manga Scholl, Minister of Culture in Brandenburg, announced the discovery of 41 gold coins, the first gold treasure discovered in the state for coins, and it is called in German regenbogenschüsselchen, which translates to “rainbow cups”.
This is not the first time that Herkt, a volunteer at the Brandenburg State Heritage Department and the State Archaeological Museum, has found gold coins, but rather in 2017.
Legends say that coins in the form of “rainbow cups” fell from the sky, as farmers found a number of them in their fields after it rained.
