Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s stances, describing him as a man who does what he says, and stressed that relations between Albania and Turkey should not disturb the European Union.

In a speech during the handover ceremony of the keys to 522 housing units built by Turkey in the Albanian city of Lach for the earthquake victims that struck the country in 2019, Rama said that he had met repeatedly with Erdogan since he was prime minister, pointing to Erdogan’s interest in Albania and that it has a special place in his heart and the heart of the Turkish people. .

He pointed out that he met many heads of state, but his relationship with President Erdogan is very close, adding: “President Erdogan is a man who does what he says.”

In turn, the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Lindita Nikol, thanked Erdogan for standing by her country at various times, and for being on a special day for Albania.

It should be noted that a 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck Albania on November 26, 2019, killing 51 people, injuring more than 900 others, and displacing about 17,000 people.

Following the earthquake, the Turkish Housing Administration “TOKI” took over the construction of a housing project of 522 apartments with a commercial unit and a parking lot, based on the directives of the Turkish President.
