Kylie Jenner makes history as the first woman to reach 300M Instagram followers

Kylie Jenner has hit another social media milestone.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star – who is due to give birth to her second child any day now – has become the first woman to amass 300 million followers on Instagram.

Beating Ariana Grande to the honour – who was once previously the most followed female on the platform – Kylie, 24, is now the reigning Queen of Instagram with her eye-watering follower count.

The social media savvy star is still behind the her male counterpart, Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo – who is currently the most followed person on the entire app, with over 388 million Instagram fans.

Kylie’s accomplishment ironically comes as the star has been uncharacteristically quiet on the photo sharing app – laying low on the platform since on-off beau Travis Scott’s Astroworld tragedy back in November.

Normally a frequent poster on Instagram, the pregnant star only broke her social media silence towards the end of 2021 – sharing a vintage throwback snap of mum Kris Jenner on Christmas Eve.

The following week, the star – who is expecting her second child with Travis – opened up about the “heartaches” she had experienced in 2021.

Captioning a black-and-white snap of herself cradling her blossoming bump, Kylie wrote: “As 2022 is approaching i’ve been reflecting on this last year and the blessings that it brought but also the many heartaches it held.

“I will never forget this year and all the significant changes it made to my life. I pray this new year is filled with a lot of love for all of you and i hope everyone stays safe and healthy during this time.”

Normal service appeared to have fully returned last week, as Kylie shared another pregnancy snap with just a regular routine caption – with no mention of anything surrounding what kept her so silent online towards the end of last year.

As she showed of her growing bump on Instagram last week, many fans speculated whether the mum-of-one was “throwing them off” – suggesting Kylie has already given birth.

“Show us the baby Kylie. I know you had it,” one commented under the star’s latest post.

“This is to throw us off !!!! She had the baby I know it,” another added.

A third quipped: “Girl we know you had the baby, name reveal! I hope its salami.”

Kylie became a mother for the first time on February 1, 2018, when she and Travis welcomed daughter Stormi Webster into the world together.

After seemingly rekindling their romance together during lockdown, the on-off couple announced the reality TV star was expecting her second child in September 2021.
