A circulating video showed a truck hanging off a narrow mountain road from a 330-foot cliff near Zhangqi City in Shaanxi Province, north China.
The newspaper “Daily Mail” quoted local officials as saying that the driver continued on the narrow mountain road because he was following the directions of the navigation.
As the road became increasingly narrow, the driver decided to go back down the mountain, but was unable to turn his truck, instead, he began to reverse the truck and move backwards, heading between rocks on one side, and a steep cliff on the other, while one of the wheels skidded. The truck was off the road, leaving the truck dangling dangerously over a cliff, according to the Daily Mail.

The driver and a passenger with him managed to escape from the cabin before trying to save the truck from sliding down the mountain, while the road remained closed for 3 days because of the truck, according to the newspaper.

The video also documented the rescuers’ use of 3 heavy tractors to pull the truck, and quantities of building materials were placed on it in order to increase the weight of the tractors, then the back of the truck was tied to the tractors with a huge towing wire, and it was towed until it straightened and returned to the descending road on the other side of the mountain.
