The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan said that a new strain of the Omicron coronavirus has been discovered in seven people.
“Based on the results of genotyping, a new type of coronavirus was detected in eight samples, including seven in Alma-Ata and one in Nur-Sultan,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
The Omicron mutant is considered more dangerous than all previous strains of Corona, as it enters the upper respiratory tract, and multiplies 70 times faster than the Delta variant.
