Male tortoise Jonathan was born around 1832 and is now his 190th birthday.

Jonathan lived 7 kings on the throne of Britain, as he lived through the invention of light bulbs, motor cars, the completion of the Eiffel Tower, black and white photos, two world wars, the Cold War and many world events, leading to the emergence of Colonna with its strains.

In the details of his life, the turtle Jonathan moved from the island of Seychelles to the island of Saint Helena at the end of the nineteenth century, specifically in 1882, to become his permanent residence that quiet and secluded place in the Atlantic Ocean, which was the famous exile for the historical French leader, Napoleon Bonaparte.

Although the average lifespan of turtles is known to be long for humans and animals as well, the turtle Jonathan in particular is considered one of the perennial organisms, given that the average lifespan of the turtle reaches 150 years, which reveals an amazing continuity of Jonathan, which amounted to more than 40 years than expected.

The turtle Jonathan suffers from many signs of aging, as he lost his sight as well as the sense of smell, but this did not prevent him from moving and showing strength according to those who give him the necessary care.

In 2021, the Guinness Book of Records celebrated the oldest living turtle in the world, at 188 years old.
