The Saudi surgeon, Hani Najm, achieved a great medical achievement, as he succeeded in removing a tumor from the heart of a fetus that was still inside its mother’s womb.
Al-Bayan newspaper said that this complex operation was carried out by a medical team led by Najm, at the Cleveland Medical Center in the United States of America.
The cancerous tumor was successfully removed even though the fetus was no more than five months old, as the doctor took the fetus out of its mother’s womb, to remove the tumor and then returned it to the uterus, according to Doctor Hani Najm.

And that operation was carried out after Ms. Sam Drennon, who is 25 weeks pregnant, learned that her fetus had a tumor pressing on the heart, and doctors would need to perform an operation to keep the fetus alive.

“Everything was fine, but after the second ultrasound, we found out that something was wrong,” the mother explained. Doctors told Drinon and her husband that she needed surgery to remove the tumor that was pressing on the left side of the fetus’s heart and causing menstrual problems. bloody;
Drinon underwent surgery, only 36 hours after specialists at Cleveland Clinic met to discuss her options, and the center indicated that the operation was successful and the fetus is in good health, and Drinon gave birth to baby Raylan 10 weeks after surgery on July 13, 2021 and she was born by caesarean section almost complete.
