British media said that the English Premier League football clubs will hold a meeting next Monday to discuss ways to deal with the Corona crisis, after nine matches in the tournament were postponed due to the spread of the virus in several clubs.
Because of the infection, key players were absent from the Chelsea and Liverpool squads last Thursday, while 13 cases of infection appeared in the ranks of Tottenham Hotspur players and its technical staff, and for this reason, the London club has not played any matches since the fifth of December, after three matches were postponed in all competitions, according to What was reported by “Reuters” news agency.
Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard said that the coaches and players (leaders) of the championship clubs will hold their own meeting next week, after a number of club officials asked for more clarification on the criteria on which matches are postponed due to Corona.

“There is a lot of anxiety and a lot of questions,” Gerrard added before his team’s match against Burnley later in the day. “This is why the Premier League clubs have decided to give the coaches of the tournament a chance to meet and I hope that many things will become clear based on this meeting.”

He continued, “There is also an opportunity for the team leaders to meet with each other and discuss the best ways to deal with the current situation.”
The Premier League will postpone matches if there are at least 14 suitable players for each team, after examining each request independently.
