Toyota, the Japanese auto giant, announced today, Wednesday, that it intends to produce a record number of cars by the beginning of next year 2022, as it intensifies its efforts to compensate for the halt in production due to a shortage of chips and spare parts.
Toyota said in a statement today that it will produce 800,000 cars worldwide in January, which is a record for this month.
“We will strive to meet our production expectations of 9 million vehicles” for the year ending March 31, the company added.
Toyota confirmed that it will continue to work with suppliers to enhance its supply chain, and will make every effort to ensure that as many cars as possible are delivered to its customers as soon as possible.
The January production plan represents an increase of 60,000 vehicles compared to the previous year.

Toyota, the world’s largest automaker in terms of production volume, was affected by the shortage of spare parts produced by factories in Malaysia and Vietnam due to the Corona pandemic.

The company said this week that the shortage is forcing it to halt some manufacturing operations in Japan in December, which means a loss of production of 14,000 cars a month. The company said this week that the shortage is forcing it to halt some manufacturing operations in Japan in December, which means a loss of production of 14,000 cars a month.
