Irish former UFC champion Conor McGregor described MMA lightweight, retired Russian champion Habib Nurmagomedov as a good fighter, but not a great fighter.

McGregor wrote on his official Twitter account about Habib: “He was crying in the cage, begging for a place in the rankings. He became a good fighter for a few weeks. However, after retiring, you were removed from all lists. He announced his retirement and asked in the same It’s time to put him first. He should have been silent about Jose Aldo. Now he looks stupid.”

The Irish fighter added: “Yes, he was a good fighter, but he wasn’t a great fighter. He had a low rate of knockouts, he wasn’t very good at kicking, and he didn’t change the weight class even once, even though he was about to die during the drying process to relieve Weight. He missed fights a few times. He ended his career early. This indicates that Habib was a good fighter, but he was not a great fighter. He was good for several months, and that’s it.”
McGrego’s comments were supported by former UFC heavyweight champion Shel Sonnen.

“Habib is the most dominant fighter ever. He not only beat his rivals, he dominated them,” Sonnen was quoted as saying by the Mirror.

The American fighter added, “But Connor said he doesn’t hit his opponents very well with his feet. He doesn’t even use them at all. Well, Connor, you’ve come to my attention now because that’s true.”

Shel Sonnen continued, “Then Connor said that Habib did not move from the weight category he was competing in, and twice failed to show the required weight (i.e. he was heavy and could not lose weight in the drying process). If he had such problems in the drying and disposal process “So why didn’t he move to another category? But Habib didn’t, and didn’t want to take the risk. Connor made our readers very convincing. I totally agree with him.”
