The famous Japanese sushi food spread all over the world contains marine ingredients with rice and other additives that differ from one type to another, one of these ingredients may rid humanity of the epidemic “Covid 19” and its variants.
Scientists say, according to what was published in the journal “Marine Drugs”: The substance “rhamnan sulfate”, which is a polysaccharide found in the mononitrogenous alga “Monostroma nitidum” used in sushi packaging, effectively suppresses the coronavirus. The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus enters cells through the interaction of the RBD receptor with the host cell’s ACE2 (angiotensin converting enzyme 2) receptor. In addition to ACE2, the RBD domain can bind to heparan sulfate and other cell surface sugars.
The researchers decided to test whether other polysaccharides, such as rahman sulfate, which is found in the algae Monostrum, could inhibit the coronavirus, especially after they were shown to be effective against the viral infection of Japanese encephalitis.
Using an anion-exchange unit, the authors extracted and purified rhamnan sulfate from the powdered mononitrogen alga Monostroma nitidum. Then they performed a detailed chemical analysis of the resulting material using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
The results showed that rhamnan sulfate effectively binds the SARS-CoV-2 protein, inhibits the ability of the coronavirus to attach and penetrate into cells, and inhibits transduction and transduction processes.
In cell culture experiments, he successfully neutralized a pseudovirus in vitro, including a variant with a set of mutations characteristic of the delta strain.
