3,000 km…a penguin “accidentally” travels from Antarctica to New Zealand

In an accident, the third of its kind, a penguin was found on the shores of New Zealand, about 3,000 km away from its original habitat.

The inhabitants gave the name “Pingu” to the penguin lost on the coast.

While on a tour of the beach in Bridlings Flat, Harry Singh and his wife saw a penguin, initially thinking it was a toy to shake their head after.

Singh calls the rescuers, fearing that the penguin will become a victim in the mouth of a predator.

Medical analyzes of the penguin showed that he was suffering from a slight decrease in weight and dehydration.

He was given fluids and fed through a feeding tube, to be later released to a safe beach on the Banks Peninsula.
