A satirical clip on “Tik Tok” topples the ambassador of a Latin country

Today, Thursday, the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the recall of its ambassador to Paraguay, against the background of a post on the social networking platform “Tik Tok” that caused confusion between the two countries.

And the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published an official statement, in which it said: “After receiving a number of official complaints and information about the publication published by the ambassador in Paraguay, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided, after assessing the circumstances, to relieve Ambassador Mario Kronimbold of his duties on November 1, 2021.”

The statement added: “This decision came after the ambassador posted on his personal page on the “Tik Tok” platform, a comic video clip related to a tradition in Paraguay.”

Diplomatic relations between Bolivia and Paraguay are witnessing a noticeable tension in recent months.
