The official WhatsApp website announced that the company will stop supporting older versions of Android and iOS smartphone operating systems, as of November 1.
The decision to stop support will include versions from 4.0 to 4.0.4 or older, as for “iPhone” devices, it will include devices with the “iOS 9” operating system or older.
The American company explained that the operation of its application will require updating devices running the “Android” system with version 4.0.1 known as (Jelly Bean), at least, and according to what the company announced, it will lose 43 models of smartphones, which run through the “Android” operating system, Messaging ability.
According to the “Metro” website, the end of support does not necessarily mean that there is no connection to WhatsApp, but users will not be able to install updates, which will lead to interruptions or errors in operation. The post also provides a list of smartphones that will not support WhatsApp as of November 1.
The list of devices mentioned include: Samsung “Galaxy Trend”, “Galaxy SII”, “Galaxy Core”, “Galaxy Ace 2” and “Galaxy Xcover 2”.
Among the iPhone 4s and earlier versions of Apple, Sony Xperia Miro, Xperia Neo L and Xperia Arc S, Huawei Ascend G740, Ascend Mate and Huawei Ascend D Quad XL, AscendP1 S and Ascend D2.
