After accidentally killing the director of photography… American actor Alec Baldwin breaks his silence

The famous American actor, Alec Baldwin, commented for the first time on the shocking incident in which he was involved – apparently by mistake – causing the death of a director of photography and critically injuring the director of one of his films.

While filming a scene in the movie “Rust”, which he also stars in and produces, Baldwin fired shots, which were supposed to be fake, but – inexplicably – the bullets killed director of photography Haliana Hutchins, and wounded director Joel Souza.
Baldwin, who was questioned by police and said he was in a tragic condition, tweeted: “There are no words to express my shock and sadness over the tragic accident that took the life of Helena Hutchins, wife, mother and deeply admirable colleague of ours.”

He added that he is fully cooperating with the police investigations to find out the cause of this “tragedy”, noting that he communicates with her husband and provides support to him and his family, saying: “My heart breaks because of her husband, her son and everyone who knew and loved Halina.”

The pistol used in this scene was supposed to contain fake bullets, but everyone was surprised that Haliana, 42, and Souza, 48, were injured after the shooting.

The director of imaging was hit in the upper chest and was immediately taken to hospital, but doctors were unable to save her life, while US media reported that Souza was in critical condition.

Baldwin plays the lead role in the film as a notorious criminal named Harland Rast, who attempts to deal with his teenage grandson’s involvement in a manslaughter case.
