A Muslim woman was subjected to a group of insults by some passers-by in the city of Bhopal, capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India, where she was forced to remove the burqa (a traditional dress for women prevalent in some Islamic countries).
And at the time of the incident, yesterday, Saturday, while the young woman was on a trip with her husband on a motorcycle, a group of men intercepted them and insulted the girl, and she was forced to remove the burqa.
The incident caused a wave of criticism in the country due to the behavior that was considered “humiliating” for the girl, after the scenes were widely circulated on social media pages.
Some reports claimed that a group of people in Islamnagar district of Bhopal stopped a couple after they suspected that the man she was riding with was a Muslim and that the girl was a Hindu.

However, the Indian newspaper, “The Indian Express”, indicated that the girl is Muslim, the man is Hindu, and that the girl was insulted for going out with a “person from another community”, or another religion.
In a video posted on Twitter, some locals are shown taking off the girl’s veil as she tries to object to their request and protest, but she was unable to refuse their requests after a series of attacks she was subjected to, as one of the assailants described her as a “stain” on society.
