The pop star was documenting the last few months, which has seen him undergo treatment for cancer.

He told cameras how he has suffered from short-term memory loss, how he spent nearly three months in bed solidly, and how he has tried to deal with his prognosis.

‘It’s so hard to think about the future,’ he said, admitting: ‘I don’t want to know.

‘I don’t think you know how you feel about death until you’re faced with it. Am I going to die? That’s the most important question.’

Tom’s wife and mother also featured, both seen getting emotional during the documentary.

‘I want to stick around – and be the best version I can!’ Tom said, as he prepared to take to the stage with The Wanted bandmates Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes.

The documentary saw him reunite with the band for a Stand Up To Cancer performance, to raise awareness, with it touch and go as to whether he’d be able to perform amid his condition.

Tom was diagnosed with glioblastoma last year, which is inoperable, and has undergone radiotherapy.

In the show, he learnt that the tumour had shrunk – but was still unsure of what the future holds for him.

‘I don’t want people to treat me different just because I’ve got something, I think that was always on my mind,’ he said. ‘I do feel like I’m in a much stronger place, but it’s so hard to think about the future. Do you know what I mean? I genuinely don’t know what it holds anymore.’

Tom’s wife Kelsey branded the situation ‘horrendous’ for their family.

‘Life has just been so hard watching my husband go through this,’ she said. ‘You just want to be there for him and do it for him.

‘I feel like he’s slowly becoming himself again, but it’s just going to take a bit of time for him to digest everything that’s happened to him.’

The couple wed in 2018 and share two-year-old Aurelia Rose and one-year-old Bodhi.

Fans of Tom’s took to Twitter to laud him for his bravery amid the battle.

‘Keep fighting lad! Watching the documentary on @Channel4! You’re such a brave man!’ one tweeted.

‘I can’t imagine there’s a dry eye watching Tom Parker – Inside My Head but wow that family blow my mind, what a force!’ another penned.

A third penned: ‘What an inspiration. Cannot imagine what you and your family are going through. Keep fighting!’

A fourth posted: ‘This Tom Parker #InsideMyHead Documentary is pulling on the heart strings. So brave!’

Another branded him: ‘A huge inspiration and hero!’
