American actress, Nicole Richie, was exposed to an unenviable situation during her 40th birthday celebration.

The fire caught Richie’s hair while blowing out her birthday candle, according to a video clip she shared with her 5 million followers on her Instagram account.

The video has more than 3 million views on Nicole Richie’s official Instagram account.

It is noteworthy that Nicole Richie is the adopted daughter of the famous American singer, Lionel Richie.

Richie became famous in 2003, after participating in the reality TV show “The Simple Life” with her best friend, billionaire and American model, Paris Hilton.

Nicole Richie also gained fame from her love of fashion and many years ago, she launched her own brand “House of Harlow”.

Nicole Richie has been married to American musician and singer, Joel Madden, since 2010, and they have two children, Harlow and Sparrow.
