Cameroonian star Samuel Eto’o has announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Cameroon Football Federation, in the elections scheduled for this year, stressing that the current president has not achieved what he hoped for the future of football in his country.
This was mentioned by the Egyptian “Gol” website, in a news article about the Cameroonian player, today, Wednesday, noting that the former Barcelona and Cameroon star, Samuel Eto’o, believes that the current president of the federation did not meet the football needs in his country.
The site pointed out that Eto’o, who retired from football in 2019, supported Seydou Mbombo Ngoya, who won the presidency of the Cameroon Football Federation and is still in this position until now, since the previous elections, adding: “But the Cameroonian star confirmed that Ngoya did not achieve what was wish it.”
He continued, “Njoya was a promising project 3 years ago, but it did not achieve what we expected of it.”
Samuel Eto’o, one of the legends of football in Africa, was promised the best player award four times, while he played in many European clubs, most notably Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea, in addition to his playing in Qatar Club.
