Russian artist Boukras Lampas (Arseny Beznikov) takes us into a unique art world, telling a tale of ancient and contemporary history, before finding himself a creative moment at the Russian pavilion for Expo 2020 in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the Department of Islamic Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, calligraphy is primarily a means of transmitting text, albeit in a decorative form. Over 3000 years ago, this pantomime art form has gone through many periods and regions, resulting in its diverse current design.
Specifically, modern calligraphy is a form of calligraphy that does not follow traditional structural rules, and it is through this criterion that the Russian artist, Pokras, born in the Moscow region in 1991, decided to devote himself to contemporary and exotic art after a look at the graffiti-covered fences along the railway line From Korolev to Moscow.

Mastering his skills every day, Boucras adds new elements, experiments with line thickness, slant and merging different languages with each other, if in letters, numbers, individual words and phrases, to then encode the symbol of the unity of the past, present and virtual future, thus bringing contemporary art to a new level. , and permanently printed the Cyrillic alphabet in it.
Contemporary Russian art, Boukras Lampas, represents a multicultural mixture of Cyrillic and Latin calligraphy, which will be joined by other famous names in drawing ancient and contemporary Russian art, represented in conceptual art installations, live performances and art forums, through which he will participate in the Expo 2020 held in the UAE, through a project ” Каллиграфутуризм” or futuristic line drawing.
Influenced by ancient, traditional, modern and innovative letterforms, Lampas aims to fuse alternative cultures, merging them together through calligraphy. His self-developed style is called “Calligrafuturism”, based on the artistic vision of the future multicultural calligraphy and within modern Cyrillic and Latin calligraphy.
The main objective of Calligrafuturism is to display the fusion of different cultures, which have been fused together by this art form in balance and harmony.
This technique was created by Lampas, and it is classified according to some of the distinguishing features common to his important artworks. In order to understand the basic rules of a language, he deconstructs each word into basic letters and letter shapes, and then reconstructs this knowledge into a new letter form from an alternate language.
Lampas’s work has recently been shown in various cultural institutions including museums and galleries as well as art projects in Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, China, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and the United Arab Emirates.
