Israeli army: Iron Dome intercepts a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip

The Israeli army announced, this evening, Sunday, that Iron Dome intercepted a single rocket fired from the Gaza Strip.
Jerusalem – Sputnik. The Israeli army said, in a statement, that “Iron Dome intercepted a single rocket fired from the Gaza Strip, and sirens were activated in the city of Sderot in the Gaza vicinity.”

Yesterday, Saturday, the Israeli army launched several air raids targeting the central Gaza Strip, following the launch of rocket-propelled grenades from the Gaza Strip at the cover area.

Palestinian media quoted security and field sources as saying that the Israeli warplanes targeted several sites of the resistance at the entrance to the Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip, and also raided a target east of Al-Bureij camp.

It is noteworthy that the “Al-Qassam Brigades”, the military wing of the “Hamas” movement, had announced, earlier, that it would place the release of the six prisoners who escaped from Gilboa prison, as part of an upcoming exchange deal with the Israeli side. Abu Obeida, a spokesman for the “Al-Qassam Brigades”, said in a video clip, that the decision of the “Qassam Brigades” and the resistance leadership that an upcoming exchange deal will not take place unless the “six prisoners” are liberated.

Six Palestinian prisoners managed to escape from Gilboa Prison, a high-security prison in northern Israel, last Monday, and since Friday evening, Israeli security forces managed to re-arrest 4 of them.
