The escape of prisoners is completely similar to a scene in a series produced by Hamas in 2014

The escape of prisoners from the most guarded Gilboa prison in Israel brings to mind dramatic works that included similar facts.

Followers of the issue of the escape of Palestinian prisoners began to remember the events of the series and movies that included prisoners’ escapes from a tunnel under the prison, foremost of which is the American movie “The Shawshank Redemption”, which was produced in 1994, which tells a similar escape story of a prisoner who dug a tunnel using a hammer hidden in a book he had in his possession. in the dungeon.

Others also recalled the most famous American series (Prison Break), which witnesses the escape of prisoner Michael Scofield, who created a hole in the walls of his cell that enabled him to escape with his friends.

But the surprise is that the escape operation carried out by the Palestinian prisoners was eerily similar – according to The Times of Israel – to the events of a Ramadan series that was shown by the Hamas channel “Al-Aqsa” in 2014.

The strength of the similarity is evident in that the escape operation in the series that bore the name “The Spirit” was carried out by six prisoners as well, and they dug the tunnel from the bathroom of their cell using a small machine the size of a spoon used by the prisoners escaping from Gilboa Prison.

In the real story, the prisoners escaping from Gilboa began digging the tunnel, which is about 25 meters long, a year before escaping using a metal spoon, as revealed by the preliminary investigations of the prison administration, which indicates that a specific number of Palestinian prisoners were aware of the plan.
The Israeli police say that the six are armed and there is a possibility that they will carry out a security operation, and they may carry out a kidnapping operation to bargain for the release of other prisoners, so all the special police units are on alert.
What is interesting about the case is that Gilboa Prison was the site of a similar escape attempt in 2014, when prison guards discovered a tunnel dug under the bathroom.

The eight prisoners suspected of cooperating in digging the tunnel were members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, and they shared a cell and a bathroom.

The security minister says the 2014 escape attempt was the way security officials first became aware of a defect in the building, and it was clear that the defect was not dealt with appropriately.
