Sergei Aramili, head of the Siberian Tiger Organization, said that wildlife in Russia currently hosts more than 600 Siberian tigers, noting that their numbers are increasing.

Vladivostok, Russia – Sputnik. “We are now saying that there are more than 600 tigers… and the trend is that their numbers are increasing,” Aramili told Sputnik on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The head of the NGO added that the exact number of Siberian tigers will become clear after the winter calculations.

The Siberian tiger is considered one of the rarest wild cats in the world, and it lives in the far east of Russia and northeastern China. Russia works systematically to protect tigers along with other rare species such as the Amur tiger.

It is noteworthy that the sixth edition of the Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held from 2-4 September at the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, aims to develop trade relations and attract domestic and international investors to the Far East of Russia.
