Jurgen Klopp criticizes Liverpool fans for this reason

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has criticized some of his team’s fans this week after offensive chants directed at midfielder Billy Gilmore, on loan from Chelsea.

According to “Reuters”, the German said in a statement that he does not want to hear such chants anymore, stressing his displeasure with them.
“I don’t feel proud about it,” Klopp said, “I think responding publicly to that was the right thing to do.”

And he confirmed that Liverpool were fantastic against Norwich with the return of main defender Virgil van Dijk, after he missed most of last season with a knee injury.

He considered that the Dutchman’s absence was a major factor in Liverpool’s suffering last season, and his strong return to playing did not surprise Klopp at all.

“I wasn’t surprised in a surprising way,” Klopp said. “He had four and a half weeks pre-season, with rehab it was the longest pre-season period ever.”

Klopp, on the other hand, expressed his delight at returning to the crowded Anfield stadium for Saturday’s Premier League match with Burnley, but he wants the fans to be at their best.

“Everyone is looking forward to it, you can imagine when you sign for Liverpool that the first thing you want is that first game at Anfield,” Klopp told a news conference on Friday.
