A group of scientists managed to discover a new source of energy, which was described as a final and clean solution to ordinary energy sources that pollute the environment.
The report, published on the specialized technical website Engadget, indicated that scientists were able to discover a fusion energy system that does not depend on magnetic field-based reactors, but rather on lasers, which in turn created a huge and limitless energy source.
And a research team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory successfully completed that experiment, which transformed laser fusion energy into a near reality that can be practically applied in various activities.
Scientists were able to release that fusion energy by blasting 20 nanoseconds from 192 laser beams into a small ball filled with hydrogen, deuterium and tritium isotopes in a small gold cylinder.
This laser energy vaporized the gold, producing X-rays that exploded inside the capsule, which leads to a fusion energy 8 times stronger than what scientists expected.
And testing showed that laser-based fusion is a more realistic possibility than initially thought.
Scientists expect this technology to effectively provide an “unlimited” energy source that can solve electrical grid capacity problems while keeping it clean and safe.
