Former France player Thierry Henry sent a warning to Argentine football star, Lionel Messi, and Paris Saint-Germain, who joined him recently after leaving Barcelona.

Henry insisted that “the balance is the most important in any team between the lines of defense and attack,” at a time when the team, after Messi’s accession, seeks to become the best team in world football, according to Goal.
The French player, who played alongside Messi in Barcelona between 2007 and 2010, expressed his doubts about the defensive papers adopted by Paris Saint-Germain, after its 4-2 victory over Strasbourg, last Saturday.

“Balance is the most important at some point, we always talk about great players, attack and defense, but we need a balance,” said the former Blaugrana and France striker.

He continued: “We are talking about the team in which I played in Barcelona, but people forget to mention that we did not receive many goals, and in general, the teams that do not achieve goals are not far from the title or even from the Champions League.”

While Henry admitted that there is a shortage of Paris Saint-Germain players, he stressed that balance is the most important.

Thierry Henry also believes that the team he is coaching, Mauricio Pochettino, needs to improve as a defensive unit in order to win titles on the domestic and European fronts.

He considered that adding players to the club with large financial deals would not guarantee the success of Paris Saint-Germain in 2021-22.

Thierry Henry’s comments come after Paris Saint-Germain announced the joining of Lionel Messi last week, after his sudden exit from Barcelona, and ending a 21-year career at the Camp Nou.

Last Saturday, Lionel Messi watched from the stands of the Parc des Princes, his new club, Paris Saint-Germain, 4-2 victory over Strasbourg, to continue his strong start to the French Ligue 1 season.

Messi was not ready yet, so he sat next to Neymar and his new colleagues Gianluigi Donnarumma and Sergio Ramos outside the field, and watched the progress with the goal of Mauro Icardi, according to the “Reuters” agency.
