Residents of the Al-Ahram Gardens area in Giza Governorate were surprised by the presence of monkeys jumping across balconies, balconies and fences in search of food.
According to local media, the matter sparked panic among the residents of the area, and some of them informed the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine to track and control the fugitive monkeys.
While the residents of the neighborhood posted pictures of the monkeys jumping towards their balconies and windows, warning other residents to close the windows in anticipation of anything.
One of the residents wrote on his Facebook page, “Oh, the group of people who fled from Nasnasin is behaving in order to block us with bricks in the houses and waste the world.”

Commenting on the incident, the head of the Central Department of Zoos, Dr. Muhammad Ragai, said in a televised intervention, that the spread of a number of monkeys in the Al-Ahram Gardens area is true and correct.
He added that it is possible that these monkeys belonged to a citizen who tried to get rid of them, and the crisis occurred.
He explained that in such cases, “these crises are dealt with by making a trap by putting a drug in bananas for monkeys.”

He noted that doctors are already in the Al-Ahram Gardens area to deal with monkeys.
On the possibility of citizens being harmed by monkeys, he replied that the monkey is nervous and can scratch or bite, but he reassured the citizens that the crisis will end today or tomorrow at the latest.
