Jorge, Lionel Messi’s father, also confirmed to some Spanish journalists while he was at Barcelona airport that his son had moved to Paris Saint-Germain, only commenting: “Yes.”

When a reporter asked him who was responsible for Messi’s failure to renew his contract with Barcelona, his father replied: “Ask the club.”

And the French newspaper, “L’Equipe”, revealed today, Tuesday, that Argentine footballer Lionel Messi has reached an agreement to move to the French club Paris Saint-Germain, and that he will arrive in the capital, Paris, in the coming hours, in preparation for the official announcement of the deal.

The newspaper indicated on its website that the former Barcelona legend had reached an agreement to move to Paris Saint-Germain, “and his plane is expected to arrive in the next few hours to the French capital.”

And the newspaper added that he is expected to pass the medical examination at the end of the day, “then sign a two-year contract with the option to extend for an additional year,” explaining that a press conference will be held tomorrow at the Parisian club stadium to present the player.

 

The contract of the Argentine star, Lionel Messi, aged 34, and the six-time Ballon d’Or winner, has expired since the end of last June, and Barcelona announced his departure because they could not afford to keep him.
