100-year-old Briton reveals the secret to his longevity

Kate Martin, a 100-year-old former British military and farmer, says the secret to his long life lies in his fondness for golf and custard pies.

Martin was born in 1921 in the county of Shropshire, and joined the early 1940s in the Royal Air Force, where in 1944 he participated in the landing operation of the Allied forces in Normandy, northwest France.

Martin’s daughter told the Shropshire Star newspaper that her father was and still is a keen golfer and became ‘addicted’ to custard pies as he got older.
