Israeli officials visit the “NSO” spy group… after announcing an urgent investigation

Yesterday evening, Wednesday, Israeli media reported that Israeli officials visited the “NSO” group to investigate what was attributed to it of using the company’s electronic surveillance technology in the field of espionage.

Yesterday evening, Wednesday, the Hebrew newspaper Israel Hayom quoted the Israeli Ministry of Defense that a number of government officials visited the group’s headquarters after publishing reports that the company’s programs are used to spy on political activists and journalists around the world.
The Hebrew newspaper confirmed that the Israeli inspection or investigation team includes representatives from the Ministry of Defense, National Security, Mossad and other agencies and institutions, provided that an investigation is opened whether the Israeli company has violated the defense export conditions issued by the Ministry of Defense in its country, and the extent to which its programs are used in a way that violates those conditions.

The visit of the Israeli investigation team coincided with the arrival of Defense Minister Benny Gantz to Paris to meet his French counterpart, to confirm that an Israeli investigation had been opened with the “NSO” group.

The Israeli investigation comes after a global espionage scandal erupted a few days ago against state officials, journalists and human rights activists, through their use of the Israeli “Pegasus” program, at a time when several intelligence services were accused in countries that obtained the Israeli “NSO” program, led by Mexico. India and Morocco.
