Bill Viola: Pioneer of Video Art

American contemporary artist Bill Viola is a pioneer in video art.
In his works, the artist re-reads the symbols of traditional Western painting, its religious images, and its philosophical messages to discuss eternal issues such as life and death and the subject of transformations and changes. Viola uses the latest cameras but avoids the use of montage techniques in order for everything to be natural. However, the exhibitions of his works constitute a wonderful theatrical space for viewers.
