Frank Grillo, who starred in Avengers: Endgame and Captain America films The Winter Solider and Civil War, has landed himself a big new role.
As reported by Deadline, the actor will be starring in action movie Hounds of War, about a group of mercenaries who take on next to impossible jobs. Unfortunately, they are betrayed and almost wiped out, with just one of the team left alive to get revenge for the rest.
Grillo, who also starred in The Purge franchise and Prison Break, will serve as one of the executive producers, with Independence Day and Geostorm producer Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment on board as well.
Filming will take place later this year in Malta.
Earlier this year, Grillo starred in the time-loop action thriller Boss Level, which had an impressive cast including Michelle Yeoh, Ken Jeong, Naomi Watts and Mel Gibson. Strangely, the only way to get it in the UK is to import the German disc, which has an English audio option.
Meanwhile, Grillo recently stated that he didn’t really want to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Avengers: Endgame, as he didn’t like what had been done to his character Crossbones. He has done voice work for the What If…? animated series, however.
He also stated that he no longer wants to play the Punisher in the MCU either.
