A Japanese government spokesman: Suga confirms the organization of games that provide safety and security

A Japanese government spokesman said today, Friday, that Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga assured the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) countries of his country’s intention to organize an Olympic Games in which there is security and safety for all, while none of the APEC leaders crossed. Concern that games are causing an outbreak of infection with the Corona virus.

Spokesperson Naoki Okada, Chief Cabinet Secretary, made the remarks at a press conference after a virtual meeting of forum leaders.

The session, postponed from last year due to the “Covid-19” pandemic, is scheduled to start on July 23, and continue until August 8, according to what was reported by “Reuters”.

Earlier, Japan announced the holding of sports at the Tokyo Olympics, without a public presence, due to the imposition of a state of emergency to combat the emerging Corona virus in the country.

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga announced, during a government meeting, the imposition of a state of emergency in Tokyo, from July 12 to August 22, due to the Corona virus.

The Olympic Games are scheduled to open in less than two weeks, according to Japanese channel NHK.

In the same period, the state of emergency in Okinawa and the enhanced measures system were extended in Osaka, Saitama, Kanagawa and Chiba prefectures.
