The Palestinian Football Association: We demand the prevention of Barcelona’s friendly stay in occupied Jerusalem

Yesterday, Thursday, the Palestinian Football Association criticized “Israel’s intention to hold a friendly match for the Spanish team Barcelona in the occupied city of Jerusalem”, which is scheduled for the fourth of next August.

The Palestinian Federation published a statement, yesterday evening, Thursday, in which it addressed the heads of the International Football Association “FIFA”, Gianni Infantino, the European, Alexander Ceferin, and the Asian, Salman bin Ibrahim, with the aim of “working not to hold the match in the occupied city of Jerusalem.”

Jibril Rajoub, head of the Palestinian Federation, stated that a friendly match between Barcelona and the Israeli club Beitar is scheduled to be held at the Teddy Stadium, which is the Israeli stadium that was inaugurated on the ruins of the abandoned Palestinian village of Al-Malha, and Beitar Al-Quds club is known for its racism and violence. A group of his fanatical fanatics, who are called “La Familia”.

In his statement, Rajoub stressed that the eastern part of the city of Jerusalem is occupied Palestinian land, which gives the Palestinian Football Association jurisdiction over any football activity that takes place in this part, and accordingly, the Palestinian Federation submits a complaint regarding the selection of the venue for the match and the accompanying events.
