The American director Richard Donner, the owner of many famous and successful films, died on Monday at the age of 91.
Donner gained fame for directing the first part of the 1976 “Superman” series, starring Christopher Reeve and Gene Hackman, and directing the action films “Lethal Weapon” starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.

Richard Donner’s latest film was “16 Blocks”, starring Bruce Willis, which revolves around a conscientious policeman who decides to protect an innocent black accused who is exposed to attempts by his corrupt colleagues in the police to kill him, so that he does not reach the court in order to testify about them.

The late Donner also directed episodes of popular TV series of the 20th century, such as “Get Smart”, “Perry Mason”, “Gilligan’s Island” and “The Twilight Zone”, and took the role of producer for successful films including the inspired “X-Men”. About Marvel comics and Free Willy.

Richard Donner was born in the Bronx and grew up in New York City, USA, before attending New York University and joining the US Army.
