The United States announced that it has recovered the wreckage of a Boeing cargo plane from the Pacific Ocean, off Hawaii.

According to a statement by the US National Transportation Safety Board, today, Monday, published by “Reuters”, the wreckage of a “Boeing 737-200” cargo plane that crashed after an emergency landing in the waters off Hawaii was recovered last week.

The statement indicated that investigators plan to use sonar technology to locate the aircraft and retrieve cockpit audio and flight data recorders.

The plane was forced to land in the Pacific Ocean early last Friday.

“The investigators plan to use side-scanning sonar to survey the area of ​​debris and the condition and location of the aircraft, including the extent of the aircraft’s subsidence,” the statement said.

He pointed out that this information will be used to determine how and when the records can be restored.

The US Federal Aviation Administration, which is also investigating the accident, said the plane’s pilots reported an engine problem and planned to return to Honolulu shortly before they were forced to land.

The statement said the National Transportation Safety Board will schedule interviews with the rescued flight crew, as well as air traffic controllers and maintenance workers.
