Ranking of the most powerful countries in the world in cyberspace

The UK-based International Institute for Strategic Studies said in a recent report on Monday that the United States “remains unparalleled” as a superpower in global cyberspace.

Moscow – Sputnik. The institute’s experts ranked countries based on the full range of individual country capabilities, from developing a digital economy to competing in cyber intelligence.
The 182-page report, called “Cyber ​​Capabilities and National Strength,” divides countries into three levels, with the United States on top.

“The United States remains the most capable nation on the Internet, and since the mid-1990s, its leaders have provided clear political direction for the pursuit of national cyber power,” the experts said.

And they added, “In that time, it has invested heavily in developing relevant civil and military capabilities, gained extensive operational experience and developed the world’s most powerful digital industrial base. The United States performs strongly in all categories of the methodology and is alone in the first tier.”

The second category includes seven countries, namely, Australia, Canada, China, France, Israel, Russia and the United Kingdom, while India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, North Korea, Iran and Vietnam ranked third.

The report also analyzed China’s current position in cyberspace, and according to researchers from the International Institute for Strategic Studies, Beijing will be able to catch up with the United States in no more than a decade.
