Opinion poll: More than half of Russians agree to limit the speed of cars in cities

The Russian website Superjob conducted a poll of Russian residents, which showed that more than half of Russians support the idea of ​​limiting the speed of cars in the city to 30 kilometers per hour.

According to the opinion poll, 59% of Russian citizens agree to reduce speed within a city or town to 30 km/h.
However, 25% of them describe this step as acceptable for all city streets. While 34% believe that speeding should be reduced on some streets only.

And 25% of the respondents expressed their opposition to this step. As for 13%, it is difficult for them to give an opinion on this matter.

24% of respondents in Moscow, 25% in Petersburg, and 26% in other large cities agreed to limit speed.

With regard to motorists, 19% of them agree to limit speed on all streets. As for 39% of them, they suggested a speed limit on some streets.

It is noteworthy that the opinion poll included 340 cities and towns, and 1,600 people over the age of 18 participated in it.

It is worth noting that the permissible speed of cars inside Russian cities is 60 kilometers per hour and in some important streets 80 kilometers per hour. This speed can be exceeded by 20 km/h without imposing a fine on the car owner.
