Wales qualified for the quarter-finals of the European Football Championship, despite losing to Italy 1-0 in the match that brought them together today, Sunday, in the third and final round of Group A.

The Italian team owes the victory to its star Matteo Pesina, who scored the only goal in the match in the 39th minute of the match.

On the other hand, the Welsh national team booked a ticket for the final price tag as a runner-up, despite losing after its score was frozen at 4 points.

Wales benefited from the “goal difference scored” rule with the Swiss team, which is relied upon when the two teams are equal on points and direct confrontations, given that they are equal on points (4 each) and the match that brought them together in the opening round ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the second match in Group A, which was played at the same time, the Swiss team defeated its Turkish counterpart 3-1.

2- Wales 4 points (from a draw, a win and a loss) scored 3 against 2 (with a goal difference of +1).

3- Switzerland 4 points (a draw, a loss and a win), which scored 4 and have 5 (with a goal difference of -1).

4- Turkey without points after three defeats, conceding 8 goals and scoring one goal (with a goal difference of -7).

The winners and runners-up of each of the six groups will qualify for the Round of 16, in addition to the best 4 third-placed teams.

The finals of the European Nations Cup “Euro 2020”, postponed for a whole year due to Corona, will be held between June 11 and next July 11 in 11 European cities for the first time in the history of the competition to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of its launch, which are the cities: “Amsterdam, Baku, Seville, Bucharest.” Budapest, Copenhagen, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome and Petersburg.
