The group stage match between Denmark and Finland, within the framework of the European Nations Cup “Euro 2020”, was suspended, after Danish footballer Christian Eriksen lost consciousness on the field, and doctors are performing resuscitation procedures on the field.

The second group match, where the Russian national team also plays, kicked off Saturday in Copenhagen. Before the end of the first half, Eriksen lost consciousness.

And the European Union published a statement in which it said: “The match between the teams of Denmark and Finland was stopped due to the loss of consciousness that affected the Danish player Christian Eriksen.”

Eriksen suddenly collapsed as he ran close to the sideline. The player’s teammates formed a ring around him while paramedics were trying to revive his heart.

A large number of players began to cry on the field before the referee ordered the match to be stopped.

The two teams then left the field and paramedics lifted blankets to hide the injured player from view.
