Expeditions of the Russian Geographical Society still find traces of the Second World War on the territory of Russia.
Remnants of war have been found in many parts of the lands scorched by war. Finally, an expedition of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Geographical Society found a surprising snapshot of islands in the Arctic Ocean.
Nikolai Petrov, deputy head of the mission, told the Russian Armed Forces TV “Zvezda” that when they passed the village of Krasino in the Novaya Zemlya archipelago, they found things that they had not seen before, which are the wreckage of American planes.
The investigation showed that it was one of the planes that arrived in Russia from America, among the supplies delivered by the United States of America to countries that fought Nazi Germany.
The Deputy Chief of Mission stated that they had detected traces of unidentified fragments on these aircraft.
