The Turkish newspaper, Cumhuriyet, reported that a letter sent by Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop to Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu “angered” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Şentop sent a letter to Soylu regarding the latter’s allegations about a parliamentarian receiving $10,000 per month from the mafia in Turkey.

Cumhuriyet newspaper reported that “Shintop sent the message to Soylu, despite the warnings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to members of the “Justice and Development” party, not to pay attention to what is issued about the case of mafia leader Sadat Bakr.”

And the newspaper considered that “this message gave Bakr, as well as the opposition, a trump card,” adding, “This step angered Erdogan.”

Following the accusations made by Bakr against Soylu, and in response to the campaign to demand his dismissal from his position, the latter said during a television interview last week, that “one of the former parliamentarians receives 10 thousand dollars from the mafia per month.”

The newspaper added that “the ruling wing considers that sending the head of the legislative authority a letter like this to a minister in the executive authority is unacceptable, and that Shantoub by this way exceeded his powers.”

The content of the letter sent by Sentop to Soylu was revealed, in which he demanded that all information and documents be submitted to the Presidency of Parliament and the judicial organs to start the judicial process.
