The Chinese company, “Huawei Technologies”, announced today, Wednesday, the launch of its own operating system, “Harmony OS” for smartphones, as the company looks to recover from sanctions imposed by the United States that have obstructed its activity in the production of phones.
Huawei will start rolling out the Harmony operating system in certain smartphone models starting from this evening, giving users the opportunity to change the current operating system based mainly on Google’s Android platform .
And the use of “Harmony OS” means that the company will no longer be fully dependent on the Android system, according to “Reuters”.
US sanctions prevent Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Group, from providing technical support for new models of Huawei phones or allowing them to access the Google mobile service on which most applications depend on the Android operating system.
